Become an Educator

Become an Educator: Approved Family Day Care Scheme

Building Futures Family Day Care is dedicated to providing families with affordable, quality education and care. In a small group setting children are able to learn and build close relationships with their Educators, who are registered with our Approved Family Day Care Scheme. We are committed to provide care which includes early learning, safety and well-being through our high quality settings.

What is Family Day Care?

Family Day Care is care that is provided in a home setting. The ratios of children are much lower than care that is provided in a centre since there is only one Educator permitted per household. Family Day Care offers flexible options for both Educators and Families. Educators are able to provide outside of normal hours care such as sleepover or night care, weekend care and before and after school care. Some Family Day Care Educators can transport children to and from school or home. As a Family Day Care Educator, you are able to set your own working hours and days as well as set your own fees. Families that choose to enrol their children in a Family Day Care setting are typically eligible for the childcare Subsidy. Family day care operates under the same National Quality Framework (NQF) as other forms of child care; incorporating National Regulations, National Quality Standards educational frameworks and an assessment and ratings process.
